💜 Unofficial M2M Fans Newsletter #1

💜 M2M Fans Newsletter #1

Welcome to the unofficial M2M newsletter!

Nearly a year after announcing their return, M2M mania is at an all-time high. Fans heard the call and attended in droves to their sold-out concerts. Dormant fan accounts have sprung back to life with the arrival of new content. And new fan accounts have found their first beginning – like this unofficial newsletter.

This newsletter will highlight some of the cool things happening in the M2M-verse, but to find the ultimate source of truth, you should follow their official channels on your social network of choice, and most certainly, their official newsletter!

The Better Endings Tour is the most important event in the M2M-verse right now, so let’s begin the newsletter there.

🎸 The Better Endings Tour

Concerts in Norway, Thailand and Taiwan are coming up!

Kicking off in Jakarta, dazzling fans through SEA then pausing for a breather in Oslo, The Better Endings Tour has raged on for almost 4 months. There are no concerts planned for September, but the next leg of the tour is still planned for October and November:

As an old-school fan (since 1999!), I was lucky enough to catch them in Oslo in June and I wrote about it here: M2M 💜 OverOslo: My Story. Spoiler alert: it was an incredible experience, and you should buy a ticket for one of the upcoming concerts.

Posts from the official accounts. Keep up to date by following them!

🇹🇭 Taipei and Bangkok : Of course the biggest news of the month is the announcement of two new dates for The Better Endings tour. Tickets are still available for these concerts, get them while you can!

🎙️ Interview by Pat, a fan : WHAT?! This came out of nowhere but the band uploaded a video where Pat, a fan, interviewed them. Talk about a dream come true! Pat brought great energy to the interview and asked them genuinely fun questions.

👩🏻‍⚖️ Marion will be a judge in Norway’s The Voice : Does anyone know how I can participate in Norway’s edition of The Voice next year? Asking for a friend :-)

🪭 The (online) Fans

Online, the M2M-verse is buzzing with activity in social media and messaging groups. Here’s the latest scoop.

🧞‍♂️ Fan Wishes

During my conversations with fans I heard a couple of wishes that resonated with the community, especially for what fans are calling M2Mtember:

  • “a new song then it will be new music video then new album then more tour and promo in btw. Never ending list.” - m2mvibes

  • “I want to ask about also their reflections from the Asia stop and how the reunion meant for their lives now” - Matt

Other wishes were all about new songs, giving fans more peeks behind the scenes, and their expectations for this coming September 22. 🤞🏻

📰 Fan accounts

Speaking of fans, the fan accounts in the M2M-verse have been putting out amazing content. We’re lucky to have such a vibrant community thanks, in no small measure, to how much people love the M’s.

Marion’s new gig as a mentor in Norway’s The Voice isn’t the first time she’ll help up and coming singers.

Marion has been an X Factor judge in the past and in this short video, posted by m2m_music, Marion goes on to give feedback to two girls auditioning for a spot. m2m_music themselves translated it from Norwegian (!) and double checked with a native speaker. If that’s not dedication, I don’t know what is.

Attention all M2M fans! To celebrate the upcoming anniversary of the M2M reunion, The Purple Room PH is running a song cover contest and a ticket giveaway! How cool is that?

The song contest requires you to record yourself live (no backing track!) and the concert tickets giveaway requires a bit of participation (like! comment! subscribe!) 😁

@m2m_ph

The reunion not only brought a lot of us together; it also brought the best of us out. @m2m_ph has been hitting it out of the park with these heartfelt short monologues on Instagram.

This one is about Marit and how her songs have carved a place in each of our hearts. As a Marit fan since Under The Surface, it hits pretty close to home. It’s one of those pieces that, as a writer, I wish I’d written. Bravo!

📟 Band trivia

There once was a band from the late 1900’s…

Did you know that M2M’s Shades of Purple was a Billboard 200 Pacesetter in April 29, 2000? A Pacesetter is an album that has had the biggest % growth among albums that week.

That’s it for today’s newsletter. Thank you so much for reading!

Like I said, this is an unofficial, fan-made newsletter but if you liked it, feel free to share the newsletter with your friends, reply to this email, or reach me @fernando.writes.things.

See you soon 💜
